One thing I really need my blogs to do is play podcasts. I have some for archives in my credentials, but other times I’ll just want to chat with my readers. Currently I’m testing out the Podcasting plugin by Spiral Web Consulting. I really like how easy it is to use this feature. At the bottom of each blog post, you have the option to simply insert the link to your audio file and the plugin automatically generates a player for it. Unfortunately, the player only shows up for posts. It does not show up in pages. I really need it for static pages more than posts at this time. I’m sure that will change in the future, but for now… The player has a similar look and feel to one I’d used on Typepad. There, however, I had to code everything, which was a REAL pain sometimes –especially when one little letter was off or the audio link didn’t copy just right into the player code.  Here is one example from my portfolio and how it looks using Podcasting: I’m curious to experiment more with this plugin and see how it works and if it best integrates audio files in my blogs. Though this is my credentials blog, I’m going to use it as a testing ground to see what’s best for me in the Wonderful World of WordPress.
